They work as part of a team to ensure that aircraft run on time and that baggage handling and other ground services are carried out efficiently.

Job Brief

We are seeking a dedicated Ramp Agent to join our team and contribute to the efficient operation of aircraft. As a Ramp Agent, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate various under-wing activities, including overseeing record keeping, handling baggage, and coordinating aircraft movement between gates.

You will be responsible for loading and unloading luggage from aircraft, delivering baggage to passengers, and providing cabin maintenance services as required. Working closely with a small team, your ultimate goal will be to ensure that aircraft are thoroughly cleaned and properly maintained, allowing for smooth take-offs and landings within the designated schedule.

This role requires attention to detail, strong teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Guiding aircraft to and from gates and reversing them for take-off
• Parking arriving and departing aircraft
• Placing chocks and cones around aircraft for safety
• Load and unload arriving and departing aircraft cargo, baggage and mail onto carts and/or dollies
• Provide special handling of baggage, cargo and mail as required
• Collect, load and unload live animals and dangerous goods on and off aircraft when necessary
• Deliver passenger baggage to the claim area and unload baggage onto the conveyor system
• Perform cabin maintenance and cleaning services, including restocking the aircraft
• Comply with all airport authority and carrier security requirements, including adhering to Swissport Standard Operating Procedures
• Report all equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Ramp Agent or similar role
• Knowledge of proper lifting techniques when handling heavy objects
• Experience working with live animals and other dangerous goods
• Working knowledge of airport safety procedures
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Great physical fitness and strength
• Superb time management
• Ability to endure tough working conditions
• Relevant training and/or certifications as a Ramp Agent
