As a TA professional, solo sourcing sessions are like a fun game, trying to find the best fit talent out there, matching my Boolean string, filters, background, etc.. Although it’s fun, sometimes it becomes daunting, especially if you dont have a sourcer on the team, and you’re the all-in-all recruiter aaand sourcer.
What is a sourcing session?
So, what do I mean by a sourcing session here? it’s the sourcing session you do as a recruiter along with the hiring manager and the team you’re hiring for.
It’s simple, basic, with no extra cost. You meet with them, offline is better, but online works just fine.
What happens next is you all open your Sourcing channel, go to the search filed, and type the top 2-3 keywords, and use the filters to adjust the location, title, etc.
On some sourcing channels, the HM and the team could start with their 1st degree connections or the people they might have worked at their previous employer, and either send them a message (it’s better that you as a recruiter create that initial message template for them, so you know it covers what you want), orrrr you can have each member, source for 10 qualified profiles and pass them on to you as a recruiter for the reach out.
And of course, you can do regular sourcing sessions with your TA team, to support whomever is working on a complex role, or high-volume hiring.
How does this help?

1. Simple emotional support when you’ve been wondering how to fill this role 😀
2. With the current algorithm, some profiles wont appear to you as a recruiter, so this helps big time unlocking an existing qualified pool of talent
3. Speed-up with the most challenging part of the hiring process.
So, have you tried sourcing sessions before? and what was the setup or workflow you’ve used? would love to hear your thoughts
